Where I Go To Find Vintage Items
Finding great vintage items can be tricky. I’ve heard many times, “I need to learn how to thrift like you!” I’ll tell you what, it takes time and patience and quite honestly, a love and desire to do it. If you can’t stand the idea of walking into store after store and not finding what you’re looking for, this might not be for you. But I have a couple of solutions if that’s you!
Gardening Graphic T-shirts
We wear loungewear to feel cozy around the house, and bathing suits and cover-ups for the pool. It only seems appropriate to me that we would also have special gardening “work” wear! So, I’ve rounded up a bunch of garden-inspired t-shirts (and a few ball caps) that I’m loving right now.
Thrift With Me Birthday Video
Here’s a little thrift-with-me from my actual birthday. I went out to dinner with friends, noticed a thrift store right next door, and of course, I had to stop in for a quick look. Ten minutes later, I walked out with a quiet, cozy haul of vintage home pieces that all feel very cottagecore-grandmacore-French country—exactly the kind of things I’m always hunting for.
Brookside Court Living Room Update
Brookside Court is still one of my favorite updates so far. These clients knew what they liked and had a great gauge of their personal style. They were ready to lighten up their space by switching from a dark paint color to something much lighter on the walls. But they wanted to maintain deep, rich colors in their decor and room design.
Complete List of Garden Essentials
We’ve lived in this home for just about 3 years, and when I tell you that I’ve been at a loss of what to do in our yard at this home, that is NO exaggeration! At our last home, I had all the dreams and visions for what I wanted the yard to be. I saw flower gardens and vegetables, fruits, and flower boxes. We had put years of work into that yard, and it was all starting to come together. And then we moved, and I was completely stumped!
Rural vs. Urban Thrifting
Hey everyone, it’s me checking in after a quick thrift run at the rural Goodwill just outside Grand Rapids. I started there and found three 1970s ice buckets in classic harvest colors—perfect for anyone building a retro bar setup. Added a solid soup mug and a set of small salt-and-pepper shakers that fit right into that cozy kitchen look.
English Garden Inspiration
I’m in full spring mode and finding so much inspiration lately for our yard. I’ve always loved the idea of creating a beautiful English garden. There is just something about flowers overflowing into one another and all the layers of colors and textures. I feel like English gardens are welcoming and cozy. I also love the way they are layered out…
11 Jaw-Dropping Bathrooms That Are Guaranteed to Inspire
Stop! Here are 11 bathrooms that stopped me mid-scroll this week. I love being inspired by others' creative ideas. And can I just say how excited I am that dark, moody colors are trending again? I usually try to avoid trends in design, but I believe that these bathrooms have a timeless beauty.
54th St. Bathroom Addition
I recently completed a bathroom addition for a client. They currently have 1 1/2 bathrooms in their home, but their family is growing, and they also want to be able to host guests down the road. They had already framed in the room and begun running water lines for the shower. They asked if I could come in and help finalize the floor plan and help with the fixtures, vanity, flooring, etc.
